Ion's chair broke...I wanted to play with it, too. [He pauses for a moment, thinking. If Ion's chair is broken, then does somebody have to carry him around? Or do they find a new chair? Or--oh hey there's a big stick under his bed he'd totally forgotten about that.]

...Is there a special way to punch people? Like how there's special ways to use a sword, and you have to practice and all of that. So maybe I could learn to fight like that, and then I could save the day and be a hero and ride a dragon and--

[He's been lifting the journal higher and higher over his head as he says this from his position on the floor, to the point that it's practically touching the floor--which is when it slips out of his fingers and falls shut. Oops.]

Oh, that's easy! There's so many other people here who know how to fight, and I was thinking if I could fight too then I could protect Ion and all the other nonfighting people from danger. Then I could be like the heroes in the storybooks!

That's very brave of you, Florian. But you can protect others without fighting or punching.

Well, there's ways of making peace and trying to make your enemies your friends. But until that works? You can try to be quick and clever, to stop your them from hurting others without having to hurt them.

Ooh...does it work on monsters too? It'd be fun if I could have a monster for a friend.

N-not always. You have to be extra careful with monsters! And only try talking to them if you're sure you can run away if it doesn't work.

What if I can't run away?

Then you should try to get help. And find a way to trick it. My people, the air nomads, the style they teach us isn't a fighting style. It's a way to move around our opponents without violence. It takes practice, but... it could be helpful.

A way to move? How does that work?...Do you jump over them?

Well, jumping could help. But this is really based around circular movements. I can give a demonstration!

[He sets the journal against something and moves back so that the video feed catches him as he starts doing some circle walking.]

You have to watch carefully and calmly to move with and around any enemy's attacks.

[Walking around in circles....it's strangely fascinating.]

Oohhh...that makes sense. Do you think I could learn that?

I think you can! The movements aren't too hard, and you seem like you got the spirit of an airbender in you!

...Yeah! Maybe I could bend air, if I try hard enough!

Well, I'm not so sure you'd be able to actually bend air... but at least just learning the movements will be helpful for moving around attacks!
