You know how there are other planets out there? Some of them look like stars in the sky. We're on one of those planets right now, it's called Luceti.

No one's really sure how we got here. The one thing we do know is that the Malnosso got us here somehow. They're the ones in charge of this place.

Oh. Does that mean we have to listen to them, since they're in charge?

... [Ugh. He doesn't like hearing stuff like that, or the answer he has to give.]

They're bad people, so we don't want to follow their orders. But they make us do it anyway.

...Oh. [suddenly reminded of having to read that score thing.]

[Something about this replica makes him not want to tell him these things. In fact, it's almost making some kind of protective instinct rise up in Luke. But... well, he has to know. Before it's too late.]

They're making us fight their war. They'll put anyone in danger just to get what they want, even people who can't fight.

[that's definitely not a nice answer. he can't help wondering why they'd do something like that, why there's a war in the first place, why they're making other people fight it.]

...I don't want to fight. They don't sound like very nice people at all.

They aren't nice. They might try to act like it, but they aren't. [And that reminds him of someone. Someone he's grown to dislike greatly.]

Believe me, none of us want to fight. That's why we're all here for each other. If it comes down to it, we'll protect you.

[the mention of being protected is...incredibly calming, actually. it's easy to believe in luke, in someone he knows and trusts, especially when he's presumably not too far away.]

...Okay. I hope nobody has to fight though. Then we could all just have fun together instead, and not have to worry about anything.

[Weeeeeell he can't guarantee anything with the "not worry about anything" bit. But still.]

We can all have fun together if you want to! I know there's plenty of time to do that. [After all, experiments and drafts don't happen all that often, despite how horrible they usually are.]

Uh - Yeah, sure! [Man, he hasn't played tag since... well, maybe four or five years ago. But still!] Or... Hey, we could even play hide and seek! [Now that is a much more recent game. ~~And a game he can easily cheat at.~~]

Hide and seek? Is that like tag? [his knowledge of games is incredibly lacking.]

Well, you see... One person's "it". They have to hide their eyes and count to a certain number, usually ten or twenty or so. Depends on how big the playing field is. The other players go hide. Once the person stops counting, they go out to find the people hiding.

Oh, that sounds fun! I'd like to try that. I'm really good at hiding, you know.

Heh, I'm good at hiding, too. [Because he cheats. But he's not about to say that.] We should see who's the best at it someday!

Okay! We'll see who's the very best hider in the whole place. It'll be really fun! [what is cheating....]

Yeah! We could even get other people to play, too! [That way cheating is even easier!!]

Maybe we could get everybody in this whole place to play!

Well... I don't think everyone would want to play. Not everyone likes games like that.
