[florian has been wandering around the village today, peeking in shops, attempting to climb trees, stalking bugs through the grass. the usual thing. he might have even run into one of you wonderful lucetians, it's a definite possibility.

it's been a really long time since he actually properly wrote in this journal thing of his, too, come to think of it - so sometime this afternoon, after a good few hours of running around, he sits down on the ground somewhere and asks an important question.]

I just thought of something...how do you know what you're not supposed to eat? Like, you can eat spinach but you shouldn't eat leaves.

...Do deer eat leaves? Maybe I can eat them after all...

There is that, child, but there also is a quantity of science to it. For example, ponies do not eat other creatures, but dine on vegetables and any manner of sweets. Just as dragons consume gem stones, and the birds prefer seeds.

Hast thou ever wished to eat a leaf?

They do indeed. All sorts of gems. Rubies, diamonds, tourmaline...

Perhaps then the best course of action would be to eat something which thou knowest already that thou...likest. Hast thou a favorite food?
canterlock: (Nay; we refuse)

We also like cookies and cakes, but we think it best to save those for after a meal.

...Usually.

...Having what is commonly referred to as a "sweet tooth", we occasionally ignore protocol and eat cakes before a meal anyway.

[But only really good cakes.]
