[florian has been wandering around the village today, peeking in shops, attempting to climb trees, stalking bugs through the grass. the usual thing. he might have even run into one of you wonderful lucetians, it's a definite possibility.
it's been a really long time since he actually properly wrote in this journal thing of his, too, come to think of it - so sometime this afternoon, after a good few hours of running around, he sits down on the ground somewhere and asks an important question.]
I just thought of something...how do you know what you're not supposed to eat? Like, you can eat spinach but you shouldn't eat leaves.
...Do deer eat leaves? Maybe I can eat them after all...

Alright. Don't go to far from there. I'm going to come find you.

[They can! She knows a lot about those things. Anyway, she closes the journal and is off to go find him. She'll find him in about fifteen or so minutes and she waves when she does.]

[Walking on up and there we go, she's here.]
You haven't tried anything yet, have you...?

...That's okay, right?

[Though she doesn't see anything particularly poisonous looking nearby, so...]

[pulling a leaf off a nearby bush. it's not poisonous, sure, but it's not really food either...]

[And she sets out off of the path and into the trees instead, crunching her way through the autumn leaves as she goes.]
Do you see the ones that are still green up there ahead of us?

he does look up when she speaks, though.]
............Those ones? [pointing!]

Yes, those ones. [And those ones are exactly where she's heading. Once she gets to the pine trees, she'll stop and reach up to pick several needles off a low-hanging branch.] And this is a pine needle!
[That said, she offers one to Florian!]

[spinning it around in his hands...bending it...haha this is kinda amusing.]
I can eat these?

[They taste pretty... piney, to be honest. By no means sweet, though.]
